Hi,

I am planning to go with Office XP but I am concerned with the activation feature. Does Office XP "FORCE" you to activate the software with Microsoft?

If so, does it force you to activate in 14 days (like WinXP) and disable the software if you failed to do so ?

Thanks for all the comments

Yes. You have 30 days or 50 uses to do it, of course, but you do have to activate it. And, if you significantly change hardware, you'll have to reactivate it.

This new feature is extremely inconvenient, but they're only trying to cut down on the high level of piracy. I'm not sure if this is correct, but I remember reading that the version for businesses do not have this feature because it would be a hassle for the IT administrators.

too bad ...

They will certainly see resistance for Office XP or Win XP upgrade for a while, at least when Win2K and office 2K still rules the universe.

I installing the corporate version even if I have the "home" version.
