So I went to update my office XP to SP1 and I got 'error 1328'?

Does anybody know why that would be?

Just download the admin service pack for xp and slipstream it into Office XP, then install it again.

1. Put your Office XP CD in your cd-rom drive.

2. Click Start -> Run...

3. Type "D:\setup /a" (This will install a VALID ADMINISTRATIVE POINT
INSTALLATION)

4. Specifiy the Origanization/CD-Key/Location.
(For the sake of these instructions, leave it at C:\Office)

5. Let it install -- this will take a while

6. Extract the oxpsp1a.exe to C:\adminupdate

7. Click Start -> Run...

8. Type "msiexec /p C:\adminupdate\MAINSP1_Admin.msp /a
C:\Office\proplus.msi"
Do not change any information during this part. Just let it continue.
Let it proceed. This may take some time to continue.

9. Click Start -> Run...

10. Type "msiexec /p C:\adminupdate\OWC10SP1_Admin.msp /a
C:\Office\owc10.msi"
Do not change any information during this part. Just let it continue.
Let it proceed. This may take some time to continue.

11. Click Start -> Run...

12. Type "msiexec /i C:\Office\proplus.msi REINSTALL=ALL
REINSTALLMODE=vomus"
Let it proceed. This may take some time to continue.

13. Congratulations! You now have upgraded to Microsoft Office XP
Professional SP1!
Please confirm by loading any install Office application (relating to
Office XP Pro) and checking the about box. It should state 'SP1' and the
version number should end with '3501'.

14. You may now delete C:\adminupdate and C:\Office. The contents of
C:\Office may be burned to a CD for a direct, possibly keyless (it was for
me but have not tested it on a machine that did not have it installed
previously) Office XP Pro w/ Frontpage SP1 CD Installer. As usual, it will
also be activation-less as well.
