I have some very old legit Office XP discs I picked u when I was in colege (lol jokes) and I need to edit some Word documents for printing. Will Office Xp work on Windows 10?
 
Thanks! I did do some searching before posting this and I did see an answer on a MS page that said Outlook wouldn't work so I thought I'd ask on a forum. I only need word doc to edit a Flyer to print.

Outlook offline version sucks anyway, it can't even remember the settings/password that a lot of users always forgot if you need to reinstall for them. Duplicate messages, wrong inboxes, corrupted PST file, won't start if some plug-ins doing some weird things, etc.

Abandoned it long time ago. 😛
 
It was a PITA when I was a tech in college. I did learn it eventually but while doing that half of the office was using some other mail program.. that was early early 2000, hah

The copy of Office XP I found was my old install disc I used at school. I am getting this error when it tries to update Office XP Service Pack 3 - Error 0x80096004. I think you may be able to do a custom install. All you need is Word. If it won't install you is out nothing.
 
I remember recently seeing issues with Excel 2002 on Win10 after a particular update (random crashing with really basic things like entering numbers in cells).
 
One more option is to send the document to a gmail account and use google apps to change it.
Libreoffice works well too.
 
Use Office Online.
Your Office XP is really old. There's a good chance it won't support something in your files that Office Online will.
LibreOffice is another decent option. 18 years laters it's actually very close to XP in looks, feel and speed. It might have an edge in features (as long as you don't need VBA). ;-)

Everyone is stuck on MS Office because it's by far the best option. All competitors basically gave up.
In Office suites standarization and compatibility is everything, so it's very likely we'll never see a second mainstream product.
 
Why not just install it and see? If it works, it works. If not, no harm done - just uninstall.
