Office XP activation question....

I purchased Office XP Professional Limited Edition about 7 months ago ($599 - ouch) I'm seriously considering buying an entire new computer. I am going to sell my old machine WITHOUT Office XP on it. Will Microsoft let me activate Office XP on the new machine? It seems a sham(e) if I'd have to buy a whole other Office Suite each time I buy a new computer. I have all of the CD's and passwords.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Have no fear. You are fine. What will most likely happen is that you will get a prompt that tells you that you need to "validate" or "activate" you copy of Office. It will give you a phone number (to MS) to call for this. When you do, just tell them that you changed or upgraded your system and they will give you a code to activate you copy of Office. No big deal, I have done it a few times already. 😀
For your own "safety", just make sure it is uninstalled on the old machine. Not that they could tell, it just keeps you "in line" with the rules. 😉

Cool enough. I have gone thru the re-activation process before after a new mobo/cpu upgrade. Sounds like this will be very similar.

Thanks!
