We have a machine in the field that we don't have the software for. That computer was one that was before our inventory system. It got lost in the process somewhere. They didn't start keeping track until 3 years ago.
It has Office 2000 standard installed and outlook is installed as "internet mail only" so they are using POP instead of the IMAP connector that we use with the mail server. I am fine with leaving it as it is, i could care less that they don't get the global address book. In order to get them on the connector the outlook will have to be reconfigured and it will ask for the CD's but i don't think the installer is still on the machine.
It sounds like the person before me installed it from the internet from a MS website or a MS partner site.
So my option is most likey to install and buy a new version of office.
But since Office 2000 is on that machine am i obligated to make sure 2000 is installed again?
Where can I find the policy about this? Any other site that explains it in layman's terms also?
