im looking for some new pranks to play on some of my fellow workers.

this one has been fun for the past few weeks:

i dial 1 persons extension, press transfer, dial someone else's extension, hang up. both of their phones ring and they argue over who called who. its hard to keep a straight face sometimes!

i always liked saving the desktop as a pic, and then using it as background and then hiding all the icons.
they'll try and try to click some icons, but alas, it won't work.

Disconnect the phone cord from the phone's base. When they pickup, they can't figure out why they can't hear anything any why the phone keeps ringing.

Another one ... tape the receiver to the base ... they lift the whole base up when it rings.

You can always 'penny' lock someone in their office...that was fun back in college...

my last prank.

one of my coworker uses corral, a forum site for mustang lovers.

i took a copy of the main page, added a japanese flag with captions "JapHack 2001", changed all the links to point to various gay porn sites.

then i set up an internal web server and re-route all traffic from the real site back to my fake page by changing the .host file.

took him a while to figure out... but not before he posted to other forum sites saying that corral was hacked when it really wasn't.
funny eh?

Takes a bit of work, but that is good. I'm impressed with the creativity.

Some April Fools Day pranks I've done or had done to me:

Cut a board the size of a sheet cake and frost it. Leave it in the breakroom with a knife or spatula and watch people try to cut it. Go for thick, rich chocolate to appeal to the chocoholics who will sneak in before break for a snack.

Take cotton balls and dip them in melted chocolate for your own homemade "chocolate covered cherries"...leave in breakroom and watch people picking cotton out from between their teeth all afternoon.

The trick is to sneak the above in while nobody is looking so they don't know who did it and try to retaliate... :Q

Gee, the only thing I ever did was modify other peoples bottles of white out so that they read 'liquid ape'. Someimtes they noticed, somtimes they didn't. There was also a guy I worked with who had to have eveything perfectly aligned and in order so sometimes his coworkers would move things just to piss him off.

If your building has a phone in the elevator, leave a note on someone's desk to call someone at that extension. Two pranks for the price of one (the poor person in the elevator isn't expecting the phone to ring).

The classical jokes:
- Leave a note telling them Mrs Rice called, with the phone nr of the local Chinese restaurant.
- Take an fish, and hide it in their desk somewhere while they're on vacation. Will have developed a nice smell by the time they return.
- Put some salt/peper/whatever in their tea/coffee, especially nice when they are on the phone when they take a sip.
- Plug in the receiver of a cordless USB mouse next to their mouse, and once in a while move the cordless mouse around a bit. See them panic while trying to figure out what's wrong with their mouse.
- Schedule an iexplore -k <nasty site> on their computer.
- Dip a tampon in red ink and leave it visibly next to their trashcan.
- Get the 'burp' joke program and run it a few times on their computer, then wait till they turn on the sound.
- Create a 2 minute .wav file only containing the Hamsterdance music and put it on every event on their PC.

Fill all desk drawers with packing peanuts.

Change your computer's name to something mysterious such as "unknown" then go to your command prompt and type in "net send (ip address) (message)" Good messages are things like errors, threats, or gibberish.

There's a little utility out there that will move the person's Start button on the taskbar anytime they try to click it. Don't know what it's called. Also a somewhat obvious one, you can reset their home page to something horribly embarrassing.

Pepsei,

thats classic!

im going to work on a similar plan. ill let you know the results.

i gotta be careful with the porn. thats the only thing ill get in trouble with.

i have a nice trick just waiting for april fools day. im gonna create a "rule" on 10 or people's email program with these conditions:
subject: any
action: forward to all

then send 1 email to one of em, which would make those 10 comps keep sending emails and thats gonna add up quick. my is guy is gonna love me that day :)

Variation on #1: Call local Chinese restaurants until you find one with an order taker with limited English skills. Transfer that call to a coworker.
