OK, this won't qualify as deal of the week, or even deal of the day, but it's still a deal. OM has Sony 12x CD-R's in a ten box, w/ jewel cases, for $7.99, and you get a free three pack of Sony CD-RW discs w/ the purchase.

VivYip: Yes, you can also order it online... it's item # BUND1202... The thing is when i ordered it a couple of days ago it was on backorder. I still don't know if I will get it.
So better hurry! :D

VivYip: your welcome :p
cmv: not sure... unfortunately... all the info the site gives is that they are 650mb/74min.. since they are free... i highly doubt that they are 12x.. but then again i could be wrong... ;)

Ian, any good prices on 10X or 8X CDRW's? I can't even find them locally. Also, do you have any experience "overclocking" ;) 4X CDRW's? How about erasing 4X at a higher speed?

To me its not worth overclocking the drives. I haven't even heard of anyone overclocking the RW part of a drive.. just the writing on those Ricohs last year. Personally I'd rather sell my old drive and buy a new one.

I usually get my stuff locally if there is a sale or at hypermicro.com or cdrexpress.com. I haven't ordered any high speed media online.. so I haven't found any place thats cheap.

I was joking--maybe you're referring to a firmware upgrade? What I meant was writing to media at over their rated speed. E.g., I've never had a problem writing 8X CDR's at 12X.
