Almost all people that I know who had rebates never received them.

These damn companies just think they can blatantly not pay

That will get you nothing. Follow the advice from here. Call the number on the rebate form - that usually works. If not, go to OMax with all the documentation. They should help.

I have received 100% of my rebates and never had to go to the attorney general (who certainly has more important things to do than worry about your lousy $40.)

Filing a chargeback is not going to cut it. You received the merchandise. The credit card company doesn't have anything to do with rebates.

Good luck!

Bad Luck for you in this case, since you already have got problems with the rebates.
Just call to OfficeMAx customer service line(if they have that is):), and talk to them about your problem. IN my case, by the way all the rebates I sent in got processed successfully and saved me money.:p

You gotta do a bit of work to get your rebate. Cry me a river. No reason to act pissy towards everyone that posts in this thread.

Second, it is not my fault if they hit the "button", now is it??

If it were me that made the mistake, I would be S.O.L

EDIT- Also, when each piece was turned in, it noted it on the website.
First, the online rebate form, then the materials were reviewed and accepted. Then, for two months
it was in the "final process" or whatever.

After reading further into this thread, you are a complete dick, and I hope you get a letter from the rebate company saying that they aren't sending you jack crap and they aren't going to help you. Then I hope you realize that the people here DID try to help you and that Karma sucks ass.

This (plus the fact you actually have to fill them out and send them in only to get on yet another mailing list) is exactly why I don't do rebates. I'd rather pay full retail price plus tax than put up with the BS.

rebates are not meant for the lazies.

meanwhile im using my $3 MS wireless optical to click on the winamp icon on my $20 17" CRT, listening to some music on my FAR ATP3, with its sound pumped out by a FAR 4-channel sound card, from my $27 WD2000JB from dell, the songs ripped by my FAR lite-on 48X burner, sitting on my $20 leather chair.

Call me when you are getting 22" diamondpro for $22... Im at the stage of my life where rebates, $10 here- $75 there have no effect on me. Not near as much as putting up with the hastle/tracking. I'm all for a good deal. Just no rebates.

I did an online complaint thing, and then copy pasted the complaint and emailed to
Staples,and the rebate companies,both.

Then they finally sent my rebate.

OP:
1. They requested that you "fax" them the information... why would you need another original UPC? You do comprehend that faxes send only a copy, right?

2. You've been on this forum for 3 years, yet appear to not know to make copies of everything, "just in case", when sending in rebates??

And, a last hint for you: When sending in anything of sufficient value that you'll feel the way you do at the moment about not getting your rebates, also send it return receipt, so you have proof they received the stuff.

Anyway, besides the two or three ignorant replies by some, I have to say your suggestions worked.

My last transmission to them said I was going to contact the BBB and my state's attorney general.
Finally, they had this to say:

Dear ______: Rebate ID: 120553816
Campaign Code: 04-81972

Thank you for your rebate inquiry. We sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience that you may have had. We are pleased to inform you
that your submission has been received and validated, and it is in
the final stages of processing. You should receive your rebate per
the terms and conditions listed on the coupon. Note that the check is
remitted in the form of a postcard and will not arrive in an
envelope.

Please be so kind to disregard rebate ID 120461363 for future
reference.

We appreciate your participation in this promotion. If there is
anything else we can do to assist you, please contact us at
maxmyrebates@maxmyrebates.com. We are always happy to help.

You can also track the status of your rebate, using the Rebate ID
above, at www.maxmyrebates.com.

I had the same thing happen to me. My seagate rebate from Outpost.com (I think) was listed as the "Final processing stage" or whatever crapola they say for like a month and a half!

I wrote them a very agressive, although polite, email with all the info, and asked them what was going on. I recieved the rebate two weeks later, and then a WEEK after that they sent me an email saying that it was processed and I should recieve it soon.

I hate these little games they play.

Yeah they were trying to play these damn games and to save their a$$, they are sending me the money.

What they don't know is that, I sent the complaint to the BBB the same day I told them I was going to.
