*Oh sob!* They are one of the 'nice' locations. What makes it worse is that they are next to the 'meanest' CompUSAs.

So when does the liquidation sale start??? my dad has an office out there in Montclair on Central Ave, as a matter of fact, I guess I should go pay him a visit, and ask him for a couple bux...

if anyone knows when the sale is supposed to start, lmk!

I think it's very likely that you'll see the location re-opening. I work at Officemax store #775 in upstate NY, and our district manager told us that most of the closings were stores that were surrounded by Staples or CompUSA stores, and that the stores would open again on the opposite sides of these competative buisnesses. Hope there's some truth to this for your guys sakes, I don't particularly care for Staples, although I DO love CompUSA. Also, I don't see why your store would close and ours would stay open, we do little buisness, although we do good for the small area we're located in.

Liquidations already started. They start out with 5, 10, and 15% sale. It started last Sunday. They transfered all of the full time to other stores and laid off the part time like me. The bad thing is they transfer all of the expensive and goodies out before the liquidator took over last Sunday.

You can also add Selden and Hauppauge (LongIsland, NY). Sometime this week I'll stop in to see what discounts are being offered. They're also closing OfficeDepot (PortJefferson, NY), but didn't offer reductions like those described in this forum. Just 10% off the ticketed price (not everything though), many of which are (and still) high priced to begin with.

Covina, Lakewood, and Anaheim OFFICE DEPOTs in southern California also closing as per Monday's LA Times, with 20-40% off.

Mysterie,

You are certainly correct! That COMPUSA sucks so much but what choice do we have :(

sygyzy, for non-important stuff I go there and big ticket items (7.5% tax). For any important stuff I go to the Industry location. Their CS is much better. Now there is one guy, someone who works in the hard drive/CDRW/etc section that great, but he's not always there, usually there isn't anyone there *sigh*.

BTW I heard a nearby Best Buy is closing too. A friend from Upland is saying that there are great deals at that store. I am not sure if that's the Monclair store (will post if I find out) or San Bernadino. Just a heads up for anyone in the area.

Mysterie, I agree!!! I went to the CompUSA to buy something and I asked one of the guys there a question. He was not very helpful and I ended up coming out of the store empty handed.

Anaheim, CA had nothing really on sale yet. Just signs saying store closing but no markdowns....

(Anaheim OD on ball is only at 20% but everything was pre marked up so youre not saving anything yet...)

Mysterie, I am from Monterey Park/Pasadena area so I frequent all those areas alot. I go to the Best Buy on Foothill alot. I only bought one thing from the Montclair CompUSA and that was the Iomega burner. The next day the manager was an ass. I don't like the industry locations, I don't know why. They seem kind of dirty to me. LOL.
