I will sort of work fairly good actaully if your using a new version of Wine... but it works nearly flawlessly using the version of Wine thats sold by CodeWeavers... they have taken WINE and focused 100% on getting it to run Office.. whereas the regular WINE team are working on the bigger picture.... so you can spend like $50 for codeweavers and get it to work almost perfectly.... and the good news is that eventually all their improvements will be migrated back into the regular WINE code.
SO the answer is YES... if your willing to spend $50 and buy the codeweavers enhanced WINE , and YES if your willing to accept it with a number of problems and use the regular free WINE.
$50 is meant for people that have something that ONLY will work in OFFICE... if you don't have something like that... then you need to consider using OpenOffice.org or StarOffice or Hancom Office, etc.. of course... if you already have licenses for Microsoft Office... $50 isnt all that much of an upgrade price to run it on a much better OS...personally I have come to feel that OpenOffice.org 1.0 is FANTASTIC! even on Windows...
