Office Jet 500 Series help please

Ok, here it goes. I have an HP Office Jet 500. It was working just fine. I changed the black and color cartridges and its printing like crap. Dark lines and ink smudges all over the documents. Now this only happens with the black ink portion of the print job.

Now I have aligned and cleaned the print heads numerous times. So in thinking that I must have a bad ink cartridge, I went back to the store for an exchange. Unfortunately that was not the answer and my print jobs are still coming out crummy, splurged, smeared and yucky. Any help would be appreciated.

ChiTown, is it possible that your old black ink cart leaked into the machine? Perhaps some of the rollers may have black ink on them. Just a thought.
