Scenario 1:
User opens an existing doc/xls from a network folder or creates a new doc/xls on a network folder. They make changes, add and delete things, etc. During this time, they save their work a couple of times. Out of the blue, when they hit the button, or go to File-Save, Word or Excel tells them that the file can't be saved because it's read-only. They must save as a different filename to continue saving thier changes.
Windows 2000 Pro (sp2 and sp3) workstation with Office XP, network folder is on a Win2kAS box.
As far as I know, this never happened before she was upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP.
Scenario 2:
Nearly the same as scenario 1, but with a different user on a WinXP Pro (not SP1) workstation, saving to a network folder on a different W2kAS box.
In either case, checking the properties of the file being worked on does not show it with a +r attribute, nor does anybody else have the file open in any way.
