I've recently regained my love of working out again. About 5 or 6 years ago I used to literally work out at the gym twice a day and either bike ride or play basketball in the evening. Anyway to make a long story short I got married, gained weight and forgot what the inside of gym looked like.

Fortunately over the past couple of weeks I've been getting back to that old feeling I used to have when I worked out. Now I'm at the point where the only thing on my mind is losing these extra pounds.

Since most of use who work full time spend at least 8 hours at the job, it seems like if there was a way to do simple exercises at the desk it could invaluable to staying/getting shape.

Does anyone know of some simple office exerices that can be done at a desk?

What about isometric exerices are those good for cubicle warriors?

you can probobly to do more, but as far as getting away with it, you could just do the hand squeeze thing.

God please no one say they dont have the free hand. too early for those jokes.

as what you propose might be difficult at work, have you considered reducing your calorie intake as a first step?

Actually I have, before I used to eat hash browns or pancakes for breakfast. Now I usually eat 2 pieces of wheat toast and 2 or 3 sausage links.

For lunch I also try to eat light, things like salads, soups, homemade sandwiches with turkey meat or low fat ham. I also eat vegetables with my dinner far more frequently. I can see some results so it seems to be working

if you don't mind about smelling afterwards, you could take in a small set of dumbells and do various exercises with those during your breaks. and depending on how big your office is, you might even be able to ride an exercise bike or something like that while you work ;) that's getting a bit extreme, but it's possible :)

ride the bike TO work, if possible. I know now some offices (well, in Vancouver at least) that have showers for employees who choose to bike to work.

we are moving to our new building next month, if they stay on schedule with the construction. We will have a gym and 2 showers. I plan to use it every day during lunch :)

Keep a box full of heavy reports. Every hour run one lap around the office. Great exercise, gets you away from the desk, and managers will appreciate your "hustle." :)
