Think the webmaster just used old template. Thought they're all ATA133. Only issue is if it has liquid bearing or not.

The ad shows model L01J040 or L01J04G. The 'G' is the DiamondMax Plus 7200rpm 8mb cache ATA/133. I have no idea what the other model is.

The $15 off $75 coupon was in this mornings paper.
Good post.

This is incorrect. The 8MB cache versions are only available for the 80GB and large Maxtor Ultra series harddrives. Maxtor's neweste versions of the 30GB/40GB models are the DiamondMax Plus 8 series (single platter, thin design). The Kit Number L01J040 will have the newer fluid-bearing version of this drive, look for the four-digit code "L6E1"....

Good post.

it was in the paper? i got it in an email. thought i was special 🙁
thanks for the heads up! actual print is better, thanks!

Just one question, if the rebate says it's valid only in Office Depot - does that mean B&M, online or both?

Thanks.

Keep in mind there is a ** $20 off $75 ** available now, i just used it this morning

Go to edealinfo.com (some random deal site), scan down the page or use the browser's find function to locate "$20 off $75 Coupon" and click through there.

..sheesh what a hassle to avoid posting coupon codes/links *shrug*

hope that helps guys. this looks like the best hard drive deal at the moment, for avoiding B&M lines.

the outpost.com 80 gig/~$60 deal is dead.

I just picked one up, it is the L01J040G, which is the 40G DiamondMax Plus with 2MB buffer with liquid bearings...

My local store gives a hassle sometimes with none printed coupons so I just placed the order on the web at the OfficeDepot.com site, plugged in the $20 off coupon, said I would pick it up at the store, and pay cash.

When you get there, the order is already placed and processed, no need to haggle over coupon codes, and then I changed my mind and pay by CC.

This HDD was made on 10-12-02, so its new stock too...!

Yes it does, in fact as the B&M cashier handed me my cash register receipt, and it also printed out a rebate submission form on a 12" long strip to send in for the $40 rebate.

Thanks! Was wondering how to get it online and realised all you have to do is search the item number. 30 + tax for a 40 gig harddrive is hot!

Or just use the "Order by Item Number" Page (item 368121)

"Maybe" THIS is a direct link.

Got my hard drive with the $15 of $75... going to pick it up in a few minutes. Now I can start building my next machine...

Score 1 in Houston. They've got a bunch of these behind the glass i'm surprised no one is jumping on this deal.

$89.99 - $20 off $75 coupon + Tax = $75.76 - $40 Rebate = $35.76

Ordered online for pick-up at the local store 🙂

just picked up the i/o magic drive today @ office depot. i priced matched circuit city's rebate.

$39.99 (after PM)
-15.00
______
$24.99 + Tax

- $30 MIR
- $10 MIR

i made $10 offa this deal and got the drive ;p

I'm getting OOS on the drive.

If I put it on back order online will they show the purchase date as today for the rebate?

Any help appreciated.
