Yeah, switches are switches, unless they cost hundreds of dollars. In that case, you get mucho high-end features that you couldn't possibly use (unless you were running an enterprise-level network).
Some people say that switches are more than a home user needs, but you couldn't possibly go wrong with one if you have the money to spend. I like to leave myself room to grow when I buy computer hardware, and having a switch makes life easier once you move into using larger networks (like, say, eight ports all running at 100Mb/s).
LinkSys is a good company, too. I have a couple switches and hubs from LinkSys, and they all perform quite admirably.
If you don't have an Office Depot, you should be able to price match against Staples. I've seen just about everything LinkSys sells on the Staples shelves.
