never really had much luck with od clearances

Heh, that was the problem, I tried that sku with my zipcode and there was none at my location. :/
Dang, and I really needed a new headset, I think I half broke the one I have now which is the axis-502.

I remember seeing these at a local OD a couple weeks ago on clearance for around $8. Didn't need one then.

can anyone speak of the quality? I've bought plenty of cheap microphones in the past and the sound quality sucked to the point where I just threw them away.

I have the 502 and it's pretty good. I don't have much else to compare it to though except for the previous model of the labtec i had (which i broke by pulling the wire by mistake). The microphone is good too and the volume is a great feature.
