I don't know if theres much of a market for broken monitors.

wtf. I left mine in the front of my house and the garbage man took it. Didn't know that's not the proper way to dispose of it...

That promo makes it sound like they are doing you a favor by letting you bring the computer for them to take it off your hands. The garbagemen take it off my hands for free too and I don't have to lug it into a store. Whats wrong with throwing computers away in the garbage?

I have NEVER had a problem getting rid of old junk like broken TVs, old furniture or monitors. Simply leave it out at the curb and someone will pick it up. Junk dealers cruise the streets looking for this stuff.

Hell, in CA I left my mom's old broken vacuum on the curb and it was gone in 20 minutes.

garbageman should be able to take monitors... in nyc your limited to 6 big objects on garbage day

IIRC, 1/3 the weight of a CRT-based monitor or TV is lead.
