-DVI Cables
-VGA Cables
-Power Cables
-Network Cables
-WYSE Terminals
-Old Firewalls, switches, P3 Servers
-Bad Blackberries, etc.

There are literally hundreds of cables just lying around and I've been asked to dispose of them on office clean up day.

I already salvaged a couple of broken laptops that I believe have good value and 2 brand new DELL PDUs that retailed for over $1000+ when they were purchased (never used).

What do you guys think of the rest of this junk? Do these cables have any value or should I leave them be?

Cables are pennies each, but thousands will be worth some amount. Servers and hardware firewalls, depending how old they are and their quality, could be worth anywhere from $10 to far more.

Well you could box it all up and just turn it in on one of these Free Technology Turn-in days. Helps if you know when these days are scheduled. Most cables arent worth much except maybe like network cables. If you have gone to WIFI and only use USB cables, then maybe the old stuff needs to go.

I suppose someone could strip all the wires and salvage the Copper.

copper recycles really well.

That's what I was thinking. You'll probably be able to get the most out of the cables for the least effort by selling them for scrap. There should be a scrap yard somewhere in your area that'd be happy to take them off your hands.

Sounds like some good scrap material. I used to throw all my old wire (12ga solid core, etc...) away... but I don't anymore. I save everything for scrap now. Last time I walked away with $344!
