So many of us here should use a computer from time to time, and some of us probably sit in front of a computer most days upwards of 8 hours or so. The later is me.

So I've been through chairs over the years and only once was I happy. Back in the mid-late 90's I bought a $300 chair from office max that had a 26 inch wide seat, 32 inch height back, and was comfortable as anything. I used that chair so much and even fell asleep in it over night more than a few times. I had it until 2012, almost 15 years, and then the weld on the base broke one day. It was done.

Since then I've been trying to find anything like that chair I once had. Right now I'm currently using a Serta Smart Layers Hensley executive chair. This one here..

They go on sale and be picked up for as low as $225 or so if you are patient.

Still it isn't nearly as good as my old chair. I'm a bit guy that sometimes even likes to sit cross legged style in my chair, which is why I like wide chairs. Otherwise the arm rests tend to dig into my upper thighs. This chair is only about 20 inches wide in the seat, despite what you read online for dimensions.

About the only chair I've seen even comparable to my old chair are Era chairs. Those are some great look chairs and in sizes I could certainly use. I just don't want to be dishing out $3,000+ dollars for an office chair.

I've made diligent searches off and on over the years for a chair like my old chair or like those Era chairs at a reasonable price. Haven't found anything like it at all. Is it so much to ask for a nice big heavy duty office chair at a reasonable price?
