Office 2010 Product Key Card

I know this is for one machine only and I read that it will not activate if you make a major hardware change....that's what I hear anyways.

I was curious though how it would work if i bought it for a laptop with XP Pro and regular hard drive.....then replace the HD with a SSD drive and install Windows 7 and whether it would still activate? Has anyone done this before?

And the reason why I wouldn't do it all at the same time is budget timing and Office is the most heavily used and would have been nicer to get first.

If this is some sort of OEM version, then changing a HDD to SSD shouldn't be an issue, and if you upgrade the OS at some point, that also shouldn't be an issue. You try and change the motherboard, then we might have a problem.

It is more picky with a motherboard swap but even then you still should be able to activate it over the phone.
