Office 2007 - How do I transfer license / key code?

My company has a pool of licenses for Office 2007 and they all use the same key code. We have a laptop in which the OS will be changed so Office will have to be reinstalled. Ideally, I would want to enter the key I used before and it won't knock off a license from the pool since I'm just transferring the license. I Googled around and read that I should unnstall Office first, but that there is no "deactivate" feature. Is there a way to make sure that the license just transfers without being recognized as a completely new activation? Also is there a way to check how many activations are left for a key code?

Thanks everyone

It sounds like you have a Volume License Key for Office 2007 ... In that case, what matters most,
is how many installations (each pc counts as1 install) that your license will allow. If you uninstall
Office from a pc, the install on that one would not count at that point. Just reinstall & if needed do
the online activation (not normally required on a Volume License Key) .. As to how many activations
are left for a key code, only a MS VLK rep would be able to check or tell you how many you paid for.
Again, you pay for the number of Installations you want to be able to do, not how many times you
need to activate.
