office 2007 beta 2

How do i get Microsoft office 2007 to stop asking me to enable the instant search feature in Outlook12, you must downloand an update to Windows Desktop Search, everytime I start office 2007? It's kinda annoying having it pop everytime I laungh the program.

I did not have that problem when I installed it.

Theres gotta be something in your Startup folder or maybe you can disable some stuff with msconfig. Take a look at those check boxes an see what you've got running.

In the little box type MSCONFIG.

there nothing in my msconfig that deals with office 2007. When I was running office 2003 pro on xp64, this problem never came up before.

It's in the Outlook 2007 options to stop asking for the upgrade. BTW; the 3.0 engine has no frontend so don't install it if you want to use Windows desktop search because it uninstalls 2.6 before the 3.0 version gets installed.

Slightly off topic but do you have any problems with outlook 2007 rendering your emails properly.

I had to stop using it as a lot (about half) of my emails were comming up blank.

Ironically one of them was the welcome to outlook one.

I had lots of problems with beta 1 and the Technical refresh but beta 2 has been very good. They fixed most of the bugs and the HTML rendering is fast and doesn't use 100% cpu like beta 1 did.

If you have beta 2 installed then maybe try repair or uninstall it and reinstall it.

:roll: way to patronize him. it has nothing to do with startup items. I have this problem also. It happens when I open Outlook 2007. I have found no way to disable it asking you to install Instant Search other than to actually install it.

Please do, I already found the Search Options section, but there is no option to disable the request.

Listen here Zuggywack521, using the roll eyes icon does NOT make you smarter than me. Please be so kind as to pull your head out of your ass.

And if you did pay attention, I tried in earnest to help the guy out. His response was pretty similar to the green car/engine problem. I was trying to follow proper troubleshooting procedure from beginning to end (which is a very long procedure and starts by eliminating the simple issues first). His response was not unlike those web pages you read where folks really dont know what they are doing and need a hand. But unlike most wise-ass tech reps, I was actually trying to fix the problem.
You, on the other hand, crapped on someone elses input first and then provided advice.
If you were working a help desk, the customer would have you fired before you even got to the solution.
