Where is the best place to order Office 2003. I found it for less than $100 on edirectsoftware.com but do not know their reputation. Thanks.

If the site is offering it thru a Download .... stay away ... it could be a scam or pirated copies

Only buy if you will get the actual media in a sealed box .... Microsoft is one of many

companies that laser etch a code number on the cd hub area ... any problems, with say

activating a Legit Copy & if need be they ask for those numbers .. they can tell if it is a

real MS CD or not

Note: I just went to the site he mentioned ... it says they are selling the Actual CD
looks like maybe an OEM version, but other than that, it seems to be a legit site
with "reasonable prices" for the products

You could also call MS at: 1-800-RU-LEGIT and ask them if that company
is a legal seller of Microsoft Products

If a site is selling for much less than newegg.com chances are the license is not valid and there is fine print about not being able to update the software through Microsoft.

Newegg.com carries OEM and I think Academic versions as well as retail.

Just a note ... a bit after I posted above, I called MS at the phone number I gave you
They are very well aware of the shenanigans going on at this particular software vendor.
Basically what they said, was while it is Genuine MS Product, they are not Selling it in
accordance with the License for the type of Product they are Selling to you

They are mainly selling either Academic or Volume License Software, both of which
are clearly Not Intended For Resale & most Definitely at least for the Academic versions,
not suitable for use in a Business

However, in my opinion, for Home Use you would probably be ok ... you might or might
not have trouble activating a product from them or gettting software updates to work.
If it does not activate, then who knows if MS will give you a proper code for it or if
you would have to duke it out with the Vendor
