I saved the settings from my Office2003 installation on my work PC and it created a file called New Settings.ops using the "Save my settings" option in the tools supplied with Office2003
Believing the Microsoft description that I could then restore this group of settings to a new machine, I ran the same tool on my home pc (where I have Office2003 loaded) and plopped the settings there.
What I really wanted was to make use of all the toolbars I had created at work, and the startup templates, etc.
Instead what I got is an Office2003 installation that thinks I am on my work network. Not much problem in the basic apps but Outlook is going nuts. It is looking for an ost file and will not startup based on a pst file. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook, the problem is persisting ion my registry.
Don't know what or how much to edit in the registry, and no, I didn't save the Office 2003 settings for my home machine since I assumed (wrongly) that I could always rool-back to default settings. That doesn't seem to be a possibility either.
Anyone know how to undo this problem?
