So I'm thinking of moving my copy of Vista to another computer and reinstall Windows XP, and I was just wondering how my copy of Office 2007 will work. I have the Ultimate edition and while it allows installations on 2 computers I'm uncertain whether it follows the hardware or the Windows installation it's on.

So it's basically like this:

1. Desktop: Vista HP + Office 2007 (Ultimate).
2. Macbook: Windows XP + Office 2003 (S&T edition).

I want to move Vista from (1) to (2) and keep Office 2007 licensed on (1), or like this:

1. Desktop: Windows XP + Office 2007
2. Macbook: Vista + Office 2003.

I have a spare license of Windows XP from MSDNAA.

So does anyone know? I don't want to install Office 2007 on both computers...because I want to save an installation for later when I get a new computer (plus I also bought 2003 and there's a license for it still).

This is perfectly OK. I've done it many times on three of my machines, 2 desktops and a notebook.
