Office 2000 SR-1 patch won't run

Went I tried to run the Office patch (SR-1) I got error that wouldn't let it pick the data2.msi file to update from. Microsoft recommended installing the Windows installer update and I did that and it still won't work. When I try to run it I get:

The file E:\Data2.msi is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft Office 2000 Disc 2. Try to find the installation package 'data2.msi' in a folder from which you can install Office 2000.

When I browse to the file on my CD, it won't accept it.
