A while ago I posted about a this problem and now its come up again.

I had my copy off office 2000 installed on my computer. after I formatted and reinstalled office, I could not register again because apparently it had been installed on another system (my system before I formatted). Anyway, I'm having a similar problem, except now I'm trying to put it on my laptop, and it says its been registered to another computer (my old PC).

Anyway, someone posted a software fix (either in a post or a private message), that just took away the registration wizard. Anyone have that file kicking around?

Microsoft can fix this. Buy consumer unfriendly software, deal with the consequences.

What are you guys talking about? I've installed office numerous times and never have any problems...although I never bother registering s/w, so maybe I'm missing something...

I thought only Win XP Home & Pro & Office XP were tied to your hardware, not Office 2002. Am I wrong?

lol... maybe i just didnt see it :) i'll phone tomorrow when i get home.

Anyway, I think that the version I have (Premium SR-1) needs to be registered. Versions PreSR1 dont need to be registered or something. I wish someone just had that dang file. I dont wanna be on the phone for an hour or so...
