Office 2000 installer doesn't pop up

Hey all,

I have a user who is experiencing strange issues within Outlook and Word (of Office 2000). Since I don't know what's causing the issues, I figured I would try to repair the office installation, to see if that would clear things up.

The bad thing is, I can't get the actual office 2000 installer to come up. It will go through the gathering information part, and then just vanishes. This happens no matter if I go to add/remove programs and try to Change the install, it happens when I go through the original executable that installs it (from the network), and it even happens when I try to uninstall it.

I'm reasonably certain that it's not a virus, since all our machines are pretty well protected (and I would see the issue more often if it was a virus that snuck through our AV), but I'm baffled what else it could be.

Just to be sure I've fired up Microsoft AntiSpyware on her system, but apart from weatherbug and the mysearch toolbar it's not finding anything.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks for any tips :)

You can repair Office installation by going to add remove programs in the control panel. Clicke the add remove button and chosse to repair the installation. Make sure the Office CD is in the drive.
