I am from the UK. Which, means that I know absolutely nothing about American Football.

I am going to be watching the game tonight, therefore, I would like you to tell me the basics of what I might expect to see today, and why it might be happening!

Or, if someone wants to explain it to me over the phone as I'm watching it, then that will be great, too :)

Thanks for the link.

I'll print some of those bits out, and try to understand them as i'm watching :)

Though it looks like something i won't be able to learn, or even vaguely understand, in 2 hrs

I think I may just have to watch it, and try and figure it out myself ;)

Unless of course someone does want to call me and explain it all ;)

A rule that won't be on the linked page:

If you come upon a group of guys watching a sporting event, it is always acceptable to ask what the score is, but never acceptable to ask who's playing. If necessary excuse yourself (with a phrase like "gotta take a leak") so you can use your wireless-internet-enabled PDA to figure out who's playing. Bonus points for looking up some random facts about the team to throw out there when you come back.
