At a hospital. Good benefits even being just part time.

I'm very unfamiliar with even being a consultant (take out own taxes, no benefits, etc.) and I've done my taxes via telefile every year since I've done taxes so I am unfamiliar there as well.


I'm basically looking for people to give advice on benefits and disadvantages of being a consultant instead of being actually employeed by the company.
 
take a guess if you think you'll stay a long time or a short time

if you guess long, then go employee
if you guess short, then go consultant
 
well, both would be for a short period of time. basically to get me up to speed for a full time position that is being created early next year.
