I debated in which forum to post this and decided to post it here. If I'm in the wrong forum, please point me in the right direction.

I was asked to put together a website for a nontraditional, not-for-profit, private school in my area (my kids will attend when it opens). Is there a good website that compares domain registration and hosting companies? Do any of you have any suggestions? Doing a search indicated that the name we are seeking is available; however, I'm not sure how one determines the best hosting solution. Is it best to do the registration separate from the hosting, or is it best to use one agency for both.

Thanks so much for your help!

your best bet for registration is $9 from godaddy in terms of hosting, I'll let someone else answer that, but the hosting at godaddy looks pretty good too. Personaly I use zoneedit to re-direct my domain to my ISP's server.

i got my domain at , www.15dollardomains.com and yup, you guessed it, it costs $15 per yer. Then I registered at www.aplushosting.com, so far so good, no problems and they are cool. they always email me info on their servers status, even when they just note that they upgraded or restarted one of their servers, they're cool

btw: here's my site

While I've got a few of you around offering help...

Is anything special required to register an "edu" extension?
