here. I think that oughta go to Distributed Computing and half the thread consist of bumps.

Jerboy,

This has been a practice instituted upon occasion for some time. It is not necessary to lock it.

First of all, it's a recruiting thread for some of AT's distributing teams. Join up and support your team. These threads have been allowed many times before assuming that they are not always there. DC is just trying to get more members and beat out some of AT's rivals. Get in the spirit.

Second, Off topic in GH?!?!?! You are the funniest person on AT. Have you noticed that GH is just one big Off Topic forum that consists of computer related threads. There's no rhyme or reason to many threads in there, and many, many other threads should go to a different forum (like the Video or CPU forums), but they don't. There's a lot more wrong with GH than just the DC teams trying to promote some team spirit and get som new faces.

IMO, get over it. There are far worse problems in that forum, and I would be seriously disappointed if a mod did lock that thread.

Well they DO lock on-topic stuff on off-topic forum and they do lock "how do I do this and that on Windows" on General Hardware so I think it is just fair to apply the same rule to SETI stuff. Why should they be exempt?

Example one
