Hi, I have a ASTRA 610P scanner...
I am running win2k.. and it doesn't have drivers for win2k.

But all i do is scan in photoshop.

it connects through the parallel port.

is there any possible wya to install a universal twain driver. how do i get this scanner to work.

Official word from Umax is your scanner is not compatible with Win2K. You can give NT drivers a shot if you have them, but I wouldn't hold your breath, scanner and video drivers are the biggest changes between Win2K and NT 4.

yeah i know..

i tried the NT driver...

the install program didn't install cuz it said it's teh wrong version..

i install the driver manually.. everything shows that it's workign but it didn't work

HERE IS THE TOTALLY WIERD THING

if you go to "add new hardware" and select "other devices" on of the options is an UMAX ASTRA 610P SCANNER

now i installed that

it became under "imaging devices" but it still doesn't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how can it not work.. it has the driver..
are there different models of this damn scanner?

There are two different models of the 610P, one has a power button and one doesn't. Don't know if the difference would cause the problems you are having though.
