*Off Topic*: Any advice for using Adobe Premier?

Heres some advice...

If you haven't done much video editing use a different software suite... Premiere is for moderat to advanced users...

I disagree. I think Premeire is one of the lower end editors. I've used Premeire on a Matrox machine, a program called Fast Editor, and Velocity at my place of work. I would recommend Premeire as being the thing to learn on. And it's the most commonly used, so finding advice about it would not be difficult.

I would extensively read a manual, see if you can find one online if you don't have a hard copy. Otherwise look all through the help menu, see if they have tutorials. Perhaps someone else can recommend a good forum for Premeire, but I can't. It should come easier the more you use it.

i also got Vegas Video, but have yet to try it out. Premier is a little intimidating, so i'm not sure what to do.

Perhaps if you have WinXP, it has a program called "Movie Maker" somewhere with it. I've heard it's very low tech.

But seriously, don't be intimidated, just dive into it. It's not like you'll damage your system. I found the quickest way to learn my editors was to simply have no fear and go at it, learn form any mistakes you make along the way.

Here are some facts. Premiere is designed for a dual processor setup, and uses alot of resources for dealing with uncompressed video's. Its built well, but requires alot of computer. Its fairly easy to use though. Literally drag and drop, edit. . .

I personally use ULEAD MEDIA STUDIO PRO 6.0. It has EVERYthing you would need, and is designed for the average user, with some nice high end features. The speed is 10 times better than the premiere. It can handle different video formats better i feel. You should use this over premiere if you have not so good a computer, i.e. less than a gig of ram, and less than 2 gigs of processor.
