Off to Houston tomorrow

Tomorrow marks the start of the annual family trip to Houston to visit my grandmother. It's a week long, and half the time I'm wondering what the hell I can do to amuse myself. Now I can't drive -- sucks being under 25 in a state that won't let you rent/drive rental cars unless you're 25+ -- but I could get rides to places. The only question is: where? What's there to do in Houston. I know about the NASA center -- hell, my aunt lives across Nasa Road 1 from it -- but I know there's got to be other things to do in Houston. Nothing specific in mind, 'cept maybe some good eateries both family friendly and not.

So lay it on me, all you Texas ATers. ^_^

If you are really bored you can come over to my house and help me clean out the garage.....somewhere in there is a 66 Mustang fastback I need to find so I can start working on it again.

Now that you mention it, I've been to Kemah. It is indeed fun, and we'll probably go again this year. Thanks for the reminder.

Definitely will check out Fry's. Geeking out indeed.

And Ronstang, who knows. 😉

Keep it coming guys! ^_^

I don't know which side exactly. I can never get my bearings in a town unless I drive it or walk it. But I know what I'm by: the NASA space center. In the little subdivision across NASA Road 1 from the tourist entrance to the Space Center. Dunno where that is, south, west, whatever, but that's about where I'll be.

Go shopping at the Galleria.
Main St. - Downtown for an adult beverage
Richmond Strip - more adult beverages

Jesus Christ Superstar and the Nutcracker are both in town, if you are into theatre/ballet.

If you need a restaurant suggestion, feel free to ask. I'm sure El Fenix, CPA, and I can help.

Well thanks for the advice guys, not that it helped. The first day I was there it was kinda boring; the folks went out and did some stuff with family while I stayed at my aunts, until dinner. Unfortunately the rest of the trip was spent in and out of the bathroom, as I contracted the intenstinal flu. It barely cleared up in time for me to get on the plane home.

In conclusion, this trip sucked. Siiiiiiggggh.... I didn't even get to bring back any gulf shrimp. Now THAT is a tragedy.
