Off for the next three days!!! No pager this weekend!! w00t!!!! Three days off!!!!!

Tomorrow is a National Holiday...Christmas and all that.

I have the next THREE days off. I am not on call (though I could be called in to assist).

This is the first weekend in ....wow....um....about two months that I've NOTHING going on. Hooray for me!!!! :beer: <--on my second already!!!!!!! 😀

Me\<--happy for once (but I'm sure I could Grump-Out at a moment's notice)

Lucky you, I am on call until next Tuesday..and of course not all of our international locaitons honor the holiday...our problem ones of course... 🙁

I had to work/oncall last xmas. Not this one! Off for 3 days and going someplace my phone doesnt get service! 😀

Congrats...I'm working a straight through until Monday night, and then I only have that one day off. 50 hour this week plus holiday pay though...

Ahh, but you get The Holiday Pay. (2x straight pay, right?) That's great! 🙂

Last week (Mon-Sun) I worked 90 hours +; most of the time over 60 hours was being called in at 2:30AM after working 7:00AM- 7:00PM. :roll:

I knows about the upaid overtime; salary has it's benefits and it most surely has it's negatives!!

Well, I work 11pm to 7am which I think is the perfect ship personally. One good thing, I bring one of my systems into work with me, and last night it was so slow, I played HL2 for about 4 of the 8 hours I was there. 😉

I am a Slave To The Job. The thing goes *beep*. I call to try to troubleshoot problem over the phone (doesn't work 75% of the time). I get in my truck and drive...and only The Fates know how long it will be before I return to my cozy hovel.

Correct. My job has a huge network. and it's divided, responsibility-wise, into "areas of expertise" if you will.

My area has 4 people, essentially that can SysAdmin it. I'm the most knowledgable only b/c of repeated beatings, whippings and abuse. 🙁 My coworker already knows this:

If you can't fix it, can't stall them until Monday and absolutely can't band-aid it or BS your way out of it....call me. But that last option comes with an "I'll break your damn legs!!!" caveat!!! :evil:
