Off brand Geforce 2 MX 400 not working??

i installed the newest drivers from nvidia's site and it doesn't give me a higher resolution or change the colors. This is an off brand geforce 2 that i own. I was wondering why even after i installed the newest nvidia drivers that its still is asking for drivers?
