Of networks and High Definition

I'm sure avsforum has this covered, but...

You notice that many events are not broadcast in HD when they clearly should (major sporting events, sunday games)

For example take CBS this afternoon. The colts game was SD, but they switched over the to carolina/pats game and its in HD.

This leads me to believe they are still learning and possibly only have a single HD mobile crew. They've come a long way (I still remember the fist superbowl in HD and seeing cameramen falling all over each other)

but the question remains - do they have more than one HD mobile crew?

The Patriots & Panthers, Lions & Bears, Vikings & Bengals, and 49ers& Eagles were all HDTV games.

For the late games in HD, you have SD & Denver, Browns & Packers, Rams & Cardinals, and Falcons & Seahawks. You boys need DTV!!😉

Because the major networks don't want to spend the money on the equipment to show every game in HD would be my guess.

I'm just pissy about CBS (or at least the local CBS broadcaster). Here in Omaha they pulled the plug on HD right before the freaking super bowl and demanded more money from the cable company. Cable company said "F-You" and now they are at a stonewall.

Neither side will budge. So no HD feeds from CBS. Booooo!

Fox, NBC, and ABC all have their sh!t straightened out. But not CBS. Bastards.

Well they probably have "HD remote crews" with everything they need to go to an event and broadcast it live in HD. Trucks, antenna, cameras, people, etc.

The question really could be "how many of these crews do they have and how many events can they cover?"

Take the US open for example - much of it was in HD on the major networks (forgot who was carrying it) but did that affect other HD live content?
