I need a new power supply. Need to power 12 SATA drives and an AM3 CPU. The kicker is that I need long leads and 8 Molex connectors.

The 12 SATA drives are installed in hard drive racks that use two Molex plugs to power the four drives installed. The case is a Rosewill RSV-4411. Because the case is a 4U the power supply and the drives are separated by quite a bit of empty space, hence the need for long leads...

I have found many power supplies that provide several SATA connectors, but finding a PS that has 8+ 4 pin Molex plugs is proving to be a challenge.

Anyone have any suggestions here? I am almost to the point of building some extensions myself...

I would like to find a solution for around $70 or less if possible. However, I will drop up to around $100 or so if need be...

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was hoping to find a ready solution for a clean implementation... however I may have to go your route.

I honestly think your best route would be to go with what imagoon suggested. Most PSUs only come with 4-8 of each and offer only limited length. Not worth the time and premium to hunt down a PSU that has everything you want straight out of the box.

Yeah... that's what I am seeing. Looks like I can get some wire, a crimper, some ends, and pins and make my own adapters for just what I need... and use my current stand-in unit...

the only problem I had with it was the cables were too short and not enough 4 pin...
