Of interest to those who love dark fantasy

Tonight many PBS affiliates will air the first two hours of the BBC miniseries, "Gormenghast". Further information may be found here.

Fans of gothic fantasy and the surreal may want to tune in. I know my VCR will be busy preserving this long-awaited adaptation of one of my favourite works of literature. The DVD is scheduled for release next month.

The Gormenghast Trilogy, by Mervyn Peake, is rightly regarded as a modern classic, and has received lavish praise from fantasy luminaries such as C.S. Lewis, Anthony Burgess, and Michael Moorcock. I envy the fantasy-lover who has not yet read it; a bizarre, vividly-imagined, richly flavourful treat awaits you.

Yep. I'll be watching it in Toledo.

I missed the thing on the salem witch trials last night that was on PBS. Damn Tivo didn't catch it either. It looked intersting, hopefully my older sister taped it.
