He wants to know the chances of getting killed if he enlists.. he wants to join the army because he thinks it's a big summer camp, but he's afraid of dying, so he's trying to enlist in the one with the least casualties.

If that's the Q: if you get put in infantry, thats a risk you take. Better impress the recruiter and get a cushy job.

Just join the Canadian military instead. Both of those guys do nothing but sit around and make fart jokes all day.

<< shut up i just want to know from the past wars if you dont know dont answer >>

maybe you should look it up then, or maybe (getting wild here) you should ASK A QUESTION IN A LOGICAL MANNER. No one really even knows what the hell you want. Don't whine because your poor grammer is getting you flamed.

Here is an interesting figure.

For the four services from October 1979 - September 1998:

Total Deaths attributed to Hostile Action - 563

Total Deaths attributed to Accidents - 19,077

Wow. I always thought the numbers were lower for accidents. No wonder we had a safety briefing nearly everyday.

He's some idiot 15 year old who keeps starting these threads about how he wants to join, or who's better or why the military socks are green. Just ignore him and let these threads die.

These are the main risk areas, Friendly Fire, Security check points, border areas. The actual fighting is probably much lower risk.
