OEM WinDVD won't install on new computer

My old computer died and I have the windvd software. But it won't install into the new computer because it's not the same as the old one. Any work-around available for this considering that I bought the old computer and it came with these programs?

Not easily and maybe not legally. You would need to explore the WINDVD cd with file explorer
and see if you can find where in the .ini or the setup file, that it looks to see what brand of computer
you have. You may be able to modify the file and either reburn the cd with the modded file or copy
the cd to a folder on the hard drive and install from there. Then again, why not just get a new copy
of WINDVD ? ? Your copy is probably a very old version and if you have a legit license, the upgrade
may not cost much or be free.
