OEM Version: Windows Installation Trouble, help!

I cant install Windows XP Home.
It copies all the files, then says it will reboot in 15 seconds and continue the set up. But then when the system reboots, the installation starts all over again. I've been trying this for 3 hours. Can anyone help?

Specs:
AMD64 3000+
Corsair XMS 1 gig
Lite-On CD/r/rw dvd rom
480w PSU
6600gt GPU
120gig Samsung SATA HDD

Well, I think the last post on that forum sorted out the problem for you.

No SATA was installed, and your mobo doesn't have native SATA.
Splash out on a floppy, or borrow one, or 'slipstream' the drivers from the floppy into an installation of XP,
Do a search if you want to do that

You don't mention what motherboard you've got in there? If you've got an nForce4 board, then the chipset supports SATA natively and you don't need to install the driver separately. You would only need to install a SATA driver if you wanted to enabled RAID. However, for RAID you need a minimum of two hard disks.
You would however need the SATA driver if your motherboard has either an SiS or a VIA chipset.

Another question concerns your AMD 64 CPU. Is it an E3 (Venice core) or one of the older Winchester or Newcastle cores? If it's an E3, then you might have to flash the BIOS on your motherboard since some BIOS's won't recognize the new CPUs properly. You'd need to go to the manufacturer's website to get the answer to that question.
