oem question

ok heres the rundown

I built a pc for my wife with a system build oem vista HP (a good year ago)
now she's working @ home
and she uses citrix and most of the items work but a few dont (her work place email system does not work)
so their tech support says" only windows XP pro will work with everything" 🙁

which is not a problem I have a retail xp pro that I can take from my other system. (my mame system)

but now my question is am I sol with the vista oem? (I read it's tied to the MB that I installed it on) so I guess I cant install it onto the system I took xp pro (retail) off of. correct?

Yes, you are SOL. Your OEM copy of Vista is tied to that motherboard and can not be installed on your other system.🙁

danm that stinks (thanks for the reply!)

well I did this to myself, I should have bought the retal ver. of vista lol (instead of saving 40 bux)

Why not just swap the computers or the motherboards between your pc & hers ? ?
Then you could keep Vista on your pc as it is still technically on the same computer.
