I think I have found the problem and it's basically what was mentioned above. I have stumbled upon a website that explained the dell motherboards and PSUs and says that althought the PSUs may look the same and fit, they are not the same and the converter might probably do the trick. The only thing that scares me is that it says that if a non-dell PSU has been used on the motherboard that the computer won't turn on (what happened to me) and might cause harm to the PSU or motherboard. I really hope that did not happen. Could someone also help me locate this converter? I found one but it's 14$ plus 8$ shipping. That's outrageous! Shipping on that tiny little cable should not cost more than 3$, heck the cable itself should not cost more than what they want for shipping.
I also might want to change the mobo for a better one instead of buying the adapter, so I am looking into a cheap new/used mobo that's overclockable and supports up to 1ghz p3 for around 40$ shipped.
