I hate to say this, but this is how the smaller companies rip people off, by charging a high shipping charge. Last time I shipped a CD-ROM from California to Maine, the charge was only $5.99. And I'm sure a CD-ROM is heavier than a keyboard.

It's a shame.

well 5.99 is decent price, considering the fact that CA to Main is a long trip. And the weigth even around 2-3 pounds would cost that much, I constantly ship ground so I know pricing well.

docyahoo, I think the keyboard is a lot bigger in size that the cd-rom so it makes sense it costs a bit more. :)

OK, this looks like the older one, with the "6" key on the left hand side.
If you use different keyboards--not just this one only--you may not like having to
adapt back and forth. I guess it's just personal--they had some good ideas with this
keyboard, but it's hard to get used to, i.e. it's hard to get a sense of the keyboard being "perpendicular" to your body when there's no "straight" lines anywhere on the keyboard....
hmmm.....guess I'm just picky....

It is actually not legal for them to sell OEM Microsoft products. It's a breach of the license agreement. By posting this you are probably going to get them in trouble. Oh well that's there risk.

I'm using one of those right now, just the "Pro" edition, with 19 hot-key buttons on the top. It's really cool, it actually forces you to type the right way. I got my at Office Depot for $35 shipped, not too shabby came just like it would if you bought from a store.

i really dont thikn $9 is that much of a rip off on shipping. Assuming packaging will cost $1, $8 isn't entirely out of whack with say the USPS priority rates. I think it would cost around $5 to send it priority and UPS would probably be at leaset $5 as well.

You guys don't know your keyboards. The one pictured is definitely a Microsoft Elite keyboard with the cross style arrow keys. And even their newest keyboards have the 6 key on the left side.

Shipping is not the only component involved here. "Shipping" involves the following for a "typical" company:

- Boxes to ship the item.
- Bubble wrap or packing peanuts.
- Labor costs to package the item and prepare it for shipping.
- Trips to the "shipping" outlet if UPS or FedEx don't offer a pick-up service for the company.

As you can see, you need to add these additional items into figuring out the "true" cost to ship something. The last time I purchased a box from Office Depot to ship something, I paid over $2.00 for it. Also, the packing peanuts cost me about $6.00 for a bag. I think you get the picture ...

I live here in houston - and Axiontech rocks.
I used to buy from a friend that is a local computer parts wholesale sales person until I stumbled onto WEB shopping. He couldn't offer me good non-volume deals so I went to Axiontech.
They Are not a company that rips you off on shipping charges.
just my two cents

Yep, Axiontech is good. Bought a full-tower case from them two years ago and paid only $11 shipping to NE PA.

Well, they outright claim that they don't make a profit on shipping, so I don't think they'd be so bold as to overcharge on that. While I'm not crazy about $9 for shipping a keyboard, I see how it could be so.
