OEM Liteon CDRW doesn't work with Nero 5.5 ?

Hi all,

I bought a 52X Oem liteon CDRW from Newegg last week and it came in
and I put it in my computer and instead of using the bundled Nero Express (crappy IMHO).
I used a full version of Nero 5.5 that I have and Nero 5.5 doesn't list the
cdrw as a recorder to burn to. I tried the Nero express that came bundled
with the drive and it works fine but I don't like Nero express....I want to use
my Nero 5.5 which has worked with every single CDRW I've ever tried it with
until this one.

Anyone have any ideas? I usually buy the retail boxed liteon drives but thought I
would pick up the oem drive since I usually just throw the box away.

Here is a link to the drive I bought.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

could be 'too new' for the version of nero you're running... my brother got a dvd+rw drive and his nero 5.5 wouldn't support it. Just to find out, we 'found' a copy of nero 6 and it worked fine. He didn't want to pay for more software though so he ended up using the awful stuff that came with the drive...

Thanks for the tips and the link. I'm downloading the update for the 5.5 I have
and we'll see if that will fix it up.

I've used my generic version 5.5 with several different drives and have never
seen it not accept one.

Just to update everyone, I tried the upgrade as advised and it
works just fine with my version 5.5.....it updates it to a newer
version and that version sees the cdrw drive and allows it to
work!

Thanks,
Jim
