OEM Creative GF2

Rotax

I read one post say that the OEM vers. comes w/ 7ns RAM? Is this true? What have you guyz w/ these cards seen? What speed is 7ns anyway???

7ns is rated at 143MHz...that really seems a bit too low. 6ns (166MHz) is more like it.

I havn't seen or read anything about OEM GF2's being clocked lower

if it was 7ns, it would run at 143mhz, at DDR speed so it would be about 286mhz, quite abit lower than the 6ns chips that run at 166mhz at DDR 333mhz.

although Retail boards might have higher quality ram than OEM.

I've heard of the OEM Guilletmot Hercules 3d Prophet Mx using 7 ns ram. Than it's overclock from the factory(143 to 166.) Then there were severval people from HardOcp w/ letter from Hercules saying that they are not the only manufacture to use slower ram for their OEM product.

I bought one of these anyway for $105 open box( Creative Annihalator DDR).
Now if I would only get a email notice for it officially going to ship. These were going for about ~250 on pricewatch.

I bought a creative 32mb oem gf2 gts off one of the guys here. The 32mb's all come with 6ns infineon ram which I have overclocked to 393.

The 64mb versions come with hyundai ram which supposedly overclocks better.

Ok, thanks for all the replys. I think mikee answered my exact question becuz I'm thinking about getting one of these cards from Untamo and was just kinda curious about that.
