OEM Copy of Microsoft Windows Home

Will I be able to transfer my OEM Copy of windows to this "new" machine?

Officially, you are not supposed to do that.

Practically, after you attempt to activate, IF it fails, you will be given a phone number to call. You will call and explain and they will activate it for you.

Officially, if you upgrade the motherboard, you cannot use an OEM XP license from the previous motherboard on it unless the motherboard is malfunctioning and it is under warranty.

HARDWARE is a computer system component.

This license may not be shared, transferred to or used
concurrently on different computers. The SOFTWARE
is licensed with the COMPUTER as a single integrated
product and may only be used with the COMPUTER.
If the SOFTWARE is not accompanied by HARDWARE,
you may not use the SOFTWARE.

So basically no you can't use an OEM copy on a different computer. They usually don't get upset if you change a few parts here and there, and a motherboard is no different. If you can't activate online just call in and say your motherboard died and you had to replace it.

I upgraded my motherboard and I was able to activate online.
