Odor Question...

Alright guys this is a prob at my house. I am of south asian decent (Pakistani) and my friends have told me that my house smells of onions/garlic and spices. Ive also noticed that people have told me that I tend to smell...Although I shower twice a day and wash my clothes every week and have great hygiene. Also, I wear cologne and deordorant and that still doesnt help. i think its my backpack... when i dont have i dont smell. I was wondering what is the best way to deodorize a house and keep it that way permanently. Air Freshner or those expensive HEPA filters with odor blocking feature. like the Ionic Breeze. Any experience or input would be awesome.

Quit eating all that damn curry for one. People's chemistrys are different. Some smell like roses, some smell like stuff that, well, ain't roses.

not BO, its a smell of spices/garlic/onions

the smell is always in my house and stinks up everything like my backpack. but, when i go out to a party, i dont smell...

So the odor comes from your cooking?

You seem to be focusing on your backpack as a large part of the problem. You might consider getting a new one, and store it in some fashion that keeps it away from most of the garlic and spices and whatnot. Try to avoid putting such food in it if possible.

no...i just want to get rid of the smell totally, so its not such an embarassment to have ppl over. you can tell when ppl arent crazy about the smell

If the smell is from the spices/garlic/onions from your cooking and it permeates the house, then perhaps the only way to really solve the problem is to change your diet to use different spices and seasonings, and to cook different types of food.

yeah...my parents cook every day. the smell goes through the whole house and never leaves.
Oh...it's your parents' cooking. Unless you can convince them to stop cooking those types of meals, then maybe look into those ionic filters that are designed to get rid of cigarette smoke (bars use them a lot). Those things will do a pretty good job. Also maybe a big exhaust fan over the stove.

Aside from not eating, you are running out of choices.

Why be so worried about the smell? I don't care if my house smells like onions/garlic. They don't like it, screw 'em.

Yea thats the problem. And we already ahve an exhaust fan, that never helps.

AHAHAHAHHHAHAH!!! Dude I used to be in the same situation. My mother lived with me for a year while I was in college (long story why she was living with me). All the food would stink up everything, and yes, my backpack would absorb most of the smell. There was this Indian girl in my class whom I really really liked. Well I got some balls and asked her to study with me. We got togather, and she asked me jokingly "So what's did you have for dinner, cuz I can smell it". We never studied togather after that. 🙁

No solution to you problem about house odor though. It jus sucks.

Oh and I am from Pakistan too.

Marry a chick that don't cook. Ain't that hard to find em, just look for the skinny ones.

What about leaving your backpack in someone else's house? Car maybe?

No, you gotta look for the really fat ones. They don't know how to cook so all they eat is McDs and get fatter.

No way. The Orca fat girls KNOW how to cook. It is genetic. Never marry a skinny girl. Fat ones can eat good, and you will never go hungry.
